2025 was a landmark year for Inter-College. We welcomed our 500th school to the platform, and in the process, learned a great deal about what drives schools to embrace digital transformation. The reasons were as diverse as the schools themselves — from tiny 200-student schools in rural Rajasthan to sprawling 5,000-student institutions in Mumbai — but several common themes emerged.
The single biggest driver was consolidation. Schools were tired of juggling five or six different tools: one for attendance, another for fees, a third for report cards, a separate WhatsApp group for parent communication, and often a manual register as a backup for everything. The administrative overhead of maintaining these disparate systems was enormous. When schools discovered that Inter-College could replace all of these with a single, integrated platform, the value proposition was immediately clear.
Cost savings were the second major factor. Schools previously spending Rs 15,000-25,000 per month across multiple software subscriptions, SMS gateways, and payment processing fees found that Inter-College's all-inclusive pricing actually reduced their total technology spend by 30-40%. The bundled SMS, WhatsApp messaging, and payment gateway eliminated the need for separate vendor relationships and their associated overhead.
Perhaps most tellingly, word-of-mouth was our strongest acquisition channel. 68% of new schools in 2025 came through referrals from existing customers. When a principal sees their colleague's school running smoothly on a platform, it creates a powerful motivation to explore the same solution. We are deeply grateful for this trust and are committed to building features that make every school on our platform a vocal advocate for better school management.
